  • Future Shock is the title of the exhibition by Nicholas Ragbir and Anil Bhimraj at the Queens Museum of Art. They are from Trinidad living in Queens, New York for less than 5 years, turning ordinary BMX bikes into stereo bikes the size of a small car. Each bike may take them up to 4 weeks to build in their inconspicuous garage in Queens, each one costing thousands of dollars of electrical and sound equipment. After they are finished, in the summer they ride around in groups and take turns in playing tunes. It doesn't seem to bother the neighbours, they all think the 19 year old kids are doing something great for their future, even thought they are spending a lot of money. The bikes are on exhibition at the Queens Museum of Art from January 24th - April 26th....Image © Arsineh Houspian/Falcon Photo Agency
