During the war one bomb hit the wall of the monastery and bounced off, another still embedded in the wall never exploded.  Days later images of Jesus appeared on the walls next to the altar.   • The Armenian Alphabet, created by Mesrop Mashtots in 405 AD.  Through its heavenly origin, the Armenian Alphabet, in its acrostic manner is a continuous phrase, a prayer to God, and is unique in the world. In the middle of the village stands a statue of Lenin which they polish every year and remember and wish for the prosperity Armenia had during Soviet rule.  Sonia Tsovinar in her shop, complains how it is now empty and struggling where as in Soviet times, it was full and life was not so much of a struggle.
